Do you ever look at your smile and become overwhelmed because there are multiple issues that you’d like to correct? Decades ago, improving these flaws would have been extremely costly and invasive. Luckily, modern dental advances have made having a “Hollywood smile” more affordable and attainable than ever. At Precision Dental Clinic, we offer beautiful, customizable porcelain veneers for patients in Dubai, UAE. These versatile strips of porcelain can be placed on one or more teeth to hide imperfections and instantly enhance your smile.

Imperfections addressed by porcelain veneers

Porcelain veneers are a versatile, minimally invasive solution to covering up a wide range of cosmetic flaws. Patients concerned by the following may benefit from veneers:

  • Chips, cracks or fractures in the teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Misshapen teeth
  • Teeth that differ in length or size
  • Crooked teeth
  • Permanent discoloration on the teeth

The process for veneers

Veneers treatment is a straightforward process, typically accomplished in two or three visits. Because it’s a minimally invasive procedure, only a small amount of the natural tooth structure needs to be altered.

The first step to receiving veneers is a complete evaluation of your oral health. Before receiving porcelain veneers, patients will need to have any dental conditions such as tooth decay or gum disease treated. During this evaluation, our team will also take the time to discuss what you do like and don’t like about your smile along with your desired results so that the treatment can be customized to give you the smile of your dreams.

Preparing the teeth for porcelain veneers requires that a small portion of the enamel be removed in order to allow the veneer to fit snugly and naturally within the smile. Impressions are taken and then temporary veneers maybe placed on the teeth to protect them while your final veneers are custom created in a dental laboratory.

Finally, when your veneers are ready, you will return to the office for a try on to ensure that the veneers look and feel right. Small adjustments can be made before the veneers are cemented to the front of the teeth.

Frequently Asked Questions with Dr. Sharon Anand - Can veneers be whitened?
Can you whiten veneers? How should you maintain veneers? These are some of the frequently asked questions when it comes to patients who get veneers done. Watch this video as Dr. Sharon Anand explains.

Can veneers be whitened?

You don’t really need to whiten your veneers because you must have chosen the shade that’s just the right amount of white for you.

Also, another reason why we can’t really whiten your veneers is because they are made of ceramic. They don’t absorb the whitening agent.

How to maintain veneers?

Maintenance for your veneers stays pretty much the same as your usual maintenance. That is the cleaning and polishing every six months and good oral hygiene habits at home.

Frequently Asked Questions with Dr. Sharon Anand

How to take care of your veneers?

If your natural teeth can be harmed by eating certain foods, your veneers can also get harmed or damaged. So be mindful of what you’re going to eat with your veneers.

Do I have to floss even after veneers?

You need to floss every day, even after you have your veneers. In fact, if you are unable to floss, that’s a sign that you need to get your veneers checked.

Because for the long term, if a person doesn’t floss, it might lead to gum inflammation or gingivitis.

Can the veneers be whitened?

If you’re looking forward to whitening your teeth after the veneers, that wouldn’t be possible because veneers don’t take up the bleach.

So before you get your veneers done, carefully assess and decide what shade of veneers you want so that you don’t need to whiten them.

What is the process of a Smile Makeover with Veneers? - Frequently asked questions with Dr. Anand

What is the process of a Smile Makeover with Veneers
Watch this video to understand the frequently asked question on the process of a smile makeover with veneers.

When a patient comes in asking for a smile makeover, we take a set of intraoral and extraoral photographs to see what the patient is looking for and diagnose the problem at hand.

After the photographs, we do a mock-up, either at the clinic or lab.

We show the mock-up to the patient and ask them if this is what they have in mind.

Once the mock-up is agreed to, we begin by prepping or slightly reducing, or trimming the teeth to accommodate the veneers.

After the prep is done, we take impressions, send them to the lab, and once the veneers are processed and returned from the lab, the patient comes in to get them bonded.

And that is the process of a smile makeover!

Veneers
If you begin to notice that your teeth are not as white as they used to be, or are beginning to discolor, then veneers might be what you need. It works well for discolored teeth and even those that have become brittle overtime. They are thin slips of porcelain fixed on top of your teeth, to bring your smile back to life.

Veneers are thin hand-crafted porcelain shields worn on the front of the tooth which improves the appearance of teeth that are chipped, cracked stained, or worn. Veneers are as thin as contact lenses and are an aesthetically pleasing option for closing gaps, lengthening teeth, and for providing symmetry for making your smile more natural. Veneers are intended to last for many years without changing color. They are one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in dentistry. Ask your dentist if veneers maybe right for you
